Divisoria with mummy!

by guest writer, Da.

The day started with a call reminding me that it was already 8:00 and I had to pick up my hunny before fetching mum at RevFlex (before we head off to Divisoria). Skipping breakfast, and having Pablito to drive us around, we reached the Quezon Avenue, Araneta intersection at around 9:30 (mum wanted to be fetched at around 10-10:30) so we had ample time to stop at Chowking for a quick breakfast!

I had the danggit + tapa combo while Nix had the shanghai lumpia lauriat meal :D Ooo, and the branch manager will get it for not allowing us to change the beef siomai into pork! Cindy (the manager) will get scolded for that, I'm sure! bwahaha. Her fault for not adhering to the laws of Chowking ^._.^ I ate the buchi from the lauriat meal :d all in all, it was a yummy breakfast :d the danggit was fried to crisp (and this makes me a happy boy) :D

After fetching mum at RevFlex (I'm going back to the gym tomorrow morning! :D) we went to Equitable PCI first for some bank errands, then headed off to Masuki for lunch. Masuki is the new version of the Mamonluk noodles according to mum. Lunch was mum's treat, and was also surprisingly expensive with each bowl of beef and chicken noodle broth costing 100 bucks each :O!

After a yummy lunch we headed off to 168, only to find out that the rumors about it being closed were true! Some tax and customs and immigration issue :P Hope they don't scare away the people selling the cheap goods available there tho :S Benson (the guy who sold us the cloth for nap's wedding) told us it'll be opening in a month's time. So wait for our return trip to 168 ;-)

Since we were in the area already, we accompanied mum to Ilaya where we met Benson (who's asking when we'll be getting married ;-) :">). Hunny also got her green chiffon veil for belly dancing for dirt cheap price! :D wooohooo!

After getting the green chiffon veil, and paying Benson for the tela for Nap’s wedding, we went off to Tabora Street, where it’s rumored to have lots of beads and hipscarves. We visited Good Morning and Morning Glory (we should’ve taken pictures! The names sound too good to be true) and asked around, but none of them seem to know what hipscarves are (much to our disappointment). And since the sun was still scorching, we went back to the car with all the tela we got :D

And headed off to SM North! :D where we had halo-halo with mum in iceberg’s since she had one of her cravings (and who were we to deny her that ;-)) and then off we went to watch Moments of Love (with Iza Calzado, Gloria Romero, Karylle and Ding-Dong), which was an okay movie in comparison with other Filipino films :D but still needed improvements in the plausibility and marketability of the story line to reach international standards. I still can’t believe we watched it :)) all it takes is mum to drag us to a Filipino movie after all :))

We had a quaint dinner at home where dad got all talkative for the first time, and also cracked one of his jokes… and got the reaction he wanted :)) I’m happy for the moments we spend quality time with the parents :* :”> I love you bebekins :* We hanged out in my room for a few minutes before driving back to the grinch’s place.

weekend rewind

It's the [magic's] weekend rewind! lol! been too busy with school to update. I'm (finally!) done with thesis, etc and here's how I celebrated the first weekend of freedom.

  • Friday! Da and I dallied with Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct 2 @ Eastwood while devouring some version of the Moo fries(which tasted like Moo fries so it might as well be). She's still hot; and I regretted not doing a Basic Instinct pose for my yearbook creative shot. I looove Catherine Tramell's (Stone) manipulative/evil/cunning ways(i can so relate! don't we, andie? *evil laugh*). It got bad reviews but the loads of steamy scenes and beautiful outfits were enough to placate me. We headed to Cafe Benissimo for a late (and delicious!) dinner and some jazz. The band missed us! lol! They even talked to us after.

  • Saturday! Dinner at Fuzion, Podium. Window shopped a bit. Bought bYSI top. Was that all we did there? yes(in Podium, anyway)! why? because we waited for my adviser at the ateneo parking lot til 7. harumph! Wasn't able to have my nails done because of her. *sigh* For [cheap] dessert, we went to McDo Katipunan. It was cheap, but the fun we had is priceless.

check out my multiply for the pix. http://princessnix.multiply.com

  • Sunday! Had lunch @ Da's house. Yes, with his mum and dad. On the way(look at the funny way movie posters are still being made in some "malls"), I looked like this. *worried*

Lunch was great. So was the afternoon(Final Fantasy & paper clay painting). We also watched a bit of Jewel in the Palace (in Mandarin with English subtitles) with Auntie and had chocolate ice cream(her fave) sandwich for merienda. We had to leave at 4 so I could get ready for the fashion show @ NBC tent; not without making plans for this tuesday's divi shopping.

We got to the Fort at 6:30, registered, were too early so we hit the bazaar. Bought two multi-strand necklaces before goin back to the fashion show(and spending all my money!). The show was fantastic! I looove the designs. I'm thinking of contacting one of the designers(aside from my friend, Eric delos Santos) to make me a dress too. heehee My cousin was terrific! Again, see my multiply for the pics. Da and I ran into Pier who wasn't able to join us for dinner at Pier One after. *sniff* But nothin could've spoiled that night. Especially after my second trip to the Bazaar to get two fabulous tops. Well, I only paid for one. The other one was Da's gift. Thanks, hun! You're spoiling me.. *kisses*

  • Monday! Technically, it's not a weekend. But since it's summer break already... lol! We went to Shang to search for my idea of a perfect dress... ended up watching Nanny McPhee instead. It was cute with lotsa heart. After dinner @ Mongkok(I've been craving it for a week!), we headed home.

Tomorrow's another fun-filled day. Ciao!

one down..

one (and it's a BIG ONE!) down.. some more to go.

well, at least i'm done with the thesis defense/colloquim. whew! Special thanks to Ma'am Roque and Sir Balmaceda(for support and Shakey's lunch), math chicks: shirmel, roxy, awi, diane(for the index cards) and kinsy!!*hugsSs*

But hell isn't over yet. I still have some exams, a presentation and the paper part of the thesis(which is like, the most important part of it :p). But it's all good. :D I'm looking forward to shopping next week, memcom thing @ eastwood, basement with math chicks, house and job hunting.. most of all, i'm looking forward to cuddlywuddly time. *sigh* we had some this afternoon but i want MORE! hihihi

same goes for math chicks' night out. saturday was bitiiiin!(diba awi?? hehehe) We(Awi, Roxy, Shirmel, Da and I) watched V for Vendetta(I love it!!!) @ Market!Market!. It was cheap and good enough na. Well, the NY fries with garlic parmesan and pesto dips distracted me from the not so comfy chairs.hehehe We did some window shopping after and headed to the Fort Strip for late dinner. Pier One was packed so we went to Pasto instead(where we saw this superduper cute kid. He looked like Disney's the Kid). The night totally de-stressed me(parang walang colloquim na nangyari). Thanks, guyS! *more hugsSs*

grar! the photos won't upload. check out my flickr account instead. :) click here!

anyhoot, Da and I went to greenhills today to get his phone. a 6680!! I looove the camS. hehe after the phone-hunting, we rewarded ourselves with hot choco at Xocolat. actually, we really went there to study. nerrrds! the taza de xocolat was uber good. almost as good as Max Brenner's, better than the one from Coffee Beanery. In short, it's the best cheap substitute. Went to the chapel, did some window shopping and had dinner @ Mann Hann.
Now, I'm supposed to be studying for my exams. So i will.

GOOD LUCK (to everyone who's going through hell, like me)!!!

updates

After a week of malling with my mum, I plummet back to the drudge of school. I've so many things to do that I don't even know where to start. Gah. Lemme just gloat over the great week I had with my parents.

  • Tues (see previous entry)
  • Wed: Scholars' Recognition. Lunch @ Cravings (Ash Wed so No Meat).* Shopped(and heard mass) at Mega.*
  • Thurs*: Brunch @ Chocolate Kiss. Da drove parents to Glorietta. Fetched them after class(with all the stuff they bought, we almost dint fit in Da's car!) and had dinner with cousins at Dampa(Crabs, tempura, sinigang, baked tahong, liempo... All Fresh!).

  • Fri: Daddy went home na(sniff!). He wasn't allowed in the airport to bring the poodle I got from my cousin(grad gift). Drove mum to Galle during my lunch break so she could her shopping for that day. Met up with her after my class and shopped for shorts and a skirt. Had my usual @ Cafe Mediterranean.
  • Sat: Make-up belly-dancing class in the morning. Shang shopping in the afternoon.* Dinner at CPK. mum insisted on going to Mega for a bag she wasn't able to buy the last time and tops for daddy. After much debate, she decided on the brown one(because da and i said so!haha!). Got shoes from Charles&Keith and a top from Giordano. So it was worth the hassle of going to Mega. :p

  • Sun*: Lunch @ the Seafood Club, Greenbelt(Must've gained 5 lbs here! x_x). Got my bro Havaianas and a shirt, a black bag for myself, a top for my mum. Went home early to hear mass @ dela Strada. late dinner at TOSH.
  • Mon: mum went home... i'm back to the real world, hunny.
* w/ Da

Now to my hell weeks

  • Thurs: Abstract deadline
  • Sat: MBB orals, Microecon long exam 3
  • Mon: Geol long exam 2, thesis reporting
  • Tues: PI presentation
  • Sat: Thesis defense

the list goes on and on. i'm limiting it to the most immediate. not only that, there's house-hunting and job-seeking pa. *sigh* pray for me, guys!

surprised

My parents are here!!! Well, I knew that my mum was coming for a visit (read: shop). But my Dad?!?! How did he even get to leave his precious office, I don't know. All i know is that I'm superduper happy right now. *grin* We had dinner at Cafe Metro-the Strip with my cousin(who fetched them from the airport) and Da. Feels so good to order whatever and not worry about the bill. lol!

That was basically the highlight of the day. I know I have so many things to do for the next weeks but this makes them all do-able. Oh, I curled my hair again!heehee I wanted to shock my mum but she just smugly pointed out that i used curlers. xp On the downside, I had to miss my belly dancing today. :'( But it's alright. Seeing my parents makes everything alright.
